Fylde Gallery is a unique and beautiful space with a varied programme of exhibitions featuring local artists and heritage groups. There is always something new to see. Check out the Events page for upcoming exhibitions.
The gallery is located on the Mezzanine Floor of Booths supermarket in the heart of picturesque Lytham. Entrance to all exhibitions is FREE and the gallery is positioned next to Booths’ café; handy for relaxing with a cuppa, tasty snack or one of their famous cakes.
Booths support for the arts is a family tradition which began in 1925 when John Booth, then head of the company, donated a painting called The Herd Lassie to the local Council. This charming portrait of a young shepherdess with her flock is on permanent display in the gallery. The artist, Richard Ansdell, is a famous Victorian artist who specialised in painting animals. He lived in Lytham St Annes during the 1860s and the area of Ansdell is named after him. The Herd Lassie was the first donation to what is now the Lytham St Annes Art Collection. There is an annual exhibition at Fylde Gallery showcasing some of the fascinating historic paintings, ivories and artefacts in the collection. See the Events page for details.
There is lift access to Fylde Gallery, café and toilets. Gallery visitors are welcome to use Booths carpark which offers free parking for up to three hours.
