Literary Lunches

A host of famous faces will descend on a Lancashire restaurant for a series of Literary Lunches organised by SilverDell, the Kirkham based National Independent Bookseller of the Year.

The lunches will be held at award winning Nigel Smith’s Restaurant at Ribby Hall Village in Wrea Green.

Celebrity chefs and television personalities, including Carol Thatcher, Kate Adie and Michel Roux are amongst the guests lined up to talk about their new books whilst enjoying a sumptuous three course lunch at former Chef of the Year Nigel Smith’s eatery.

The Literary Lunches are the latest in a string of high profile events promoted by SilverDell since the shop opened its doors in 2000. Past visitors have included cricketers Ian Botham and Andrew Flintoff, broadcasters Terry Wogan and Alan Titchmarsh and actor/comedian Ricky Tomlinson.

The guests confirmed to date for the Literary Lunch season include:

Matt Skinner (Wine writer) 10th October
Kate Adie (Journalist and broadcaster) 17th October
Carol Drinkwater (Actress and novelist) 24th October
Valentine Warner (TV Chef) 31st October
Mark Hix (Restaurateur and food writer) 5th November

Other guests with dates to be confirmed include: Carol Thatcher, Lorraine Kelly, Raymond Blanc.

Tickets for each lunch cost £45 which includes the three course lunch and a signed copy of the book, plus a donation to a chosen charity in recognition of the event.
