COMING SOON - - - the chance to hear a concert of modern Scottish music by two talented Paris based musicians – JOANNE McIVER and CHRISTOPHE SAUNIERE.
JOANNE, who has family in St Anne’s, grew up on the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland. There, she learnt to play the flute and the bagpipes and went on to study classical music at Glasgow University.
It was in Glasgow that she met CHRISTOPHE who, although from Paris, was then the principal harpist with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Christophe had played the harp in various French symphony orchestras and also played drums and bass in several rock bands!
Joanne had already started composing original music for her first CD ‘Leaving Arran’. It became a joint project and she and Christophe have collaborated in composing and recording several CDs.
They continue also to have separate musical careers. Christophe’s harp playing appears on the soundtrack of many major films and Joanne is the official piper of the British embassy in Paris!
