The Hansom Cab pub in Lytham has had new landlords since July 2007 and they have been quick to develop the food side of the business. A ‘Big Breakfast’ is now available every day from 9.30am and food is available right through until 8pm most days. Everything on the menu is home-made and great-value traditional pub food. Sunday lunch at £6.95 is particularly popular. This old building is very spacious and comprises a gentleman’s lounge, atrium, pool room, function room and main bar area. It’s bright and airy and has a recently refreshed outside terrace. There’s also wide-screen TV. On Saturday nights there is live music and Tuesday is Wii night (which for the uninitiated is a fully physically interactive video game). Unlike some pubs, the Hansom Cab welcomes children, particularly on Sunday which is kids day until 8pm.
