Lytham Festival 2015

Save the dates for Lytham Festival 2-9 August.
Lytham Proms becomes Lytham Festival for a bigger, better and more diverse event in Summer 2015. Lytham Festival will span a whole week encompassing music, comedy and literary elements for all ages. www.lythamfestival.com

Lytham Proms is being rebranded as Lytham Festival for 2015 running for a whole week from 2 – 9 August. The move to create a bigger and bolder event for the town follows the incredible success of the Proms over the past five years.

International R&B sensation Billy Ocean is to top the bill of Lytham Festival’s ‘80s V 90s’ themed night on Friday 7th August 2015 at Lytham Green. Ocean will be joined by other classic acts of the era with Chesney Hawkes, Jimmy Sommerville, East 17, Sinitta, 5ive and Vengaboys also turning back the musical clock. Also now confirmed is the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra joined by special guests Marti Pellow, Elaine Paige, Jonathan Antoine and Laura Wright who’ll take to the stage on Sunday 9th August. Between them Pellow and Paige share credits for theatrical hits including Evita, Blood Brothers, Hair and Cats, few other singers are better qualified to so expertly celebrate the theme of ‘Songs from Stage and Screen’. Tickets starting at £32.50 go on sale this Saturday 20th December from Lythamfestival.com.
Early bird tickets £32.50 per night or weekend pass (Thurs-Sun) £132.50

There will also be additional events including comedy, literature and even more music featuring at other venues across the town throughout the week.

Event promoters Cuffe and Taylor are behind the success of Lytham Proms and are taking the bold move of making the event bigger and better than ever before.

Lytham Festival is pulling out all the stops for 2015 and superstar headliners from a variety of genres will be announced soon. Fans of the original format need not worry as A-List talent from the classical and pop worlds will remain the jewel in Lytham Festival’s crown as they perform on Lytham Green over four nights from Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 August.

Comedy and literature, for both children and adults alike, will feature in the expanded Lytham Festival programme across a whole week starting Monday 2 August. Venues including The Assembly Rooms will host a Jazz Café, while festival-goers can venture to Hewitt Lecture Rooms to discover spoken word and poetry plus a comedy Big Top will pop up at Park View 4U.

Park View 4U will also host a specially devised “Festival of Stories” for younger festival-goers with a programme celebrating heritage and creative storytelling aimed at children, young people and their families. This will include published children’s authors, workshops and exhibitions

With the additional activity running alongside the main arena on Lytham Green events over the course of the week will include both free and ticketed options.

Further information about Lytham Festival 2015 will be announced shortly and you can register for updates at www.lythamfestival.com
