Lytham Proms becomes Lytham Festival for a bigger, better and more diverse event in Summer 2015. Lytham Festival will span a whole week encompassing music, comedy and literary elements for all ages. www.lythamfestival.com
Lytham Proms is being rebranded as Lytham Festival for 2015 running for a whole week from 2 – 9 August. The move to create a bigger and bolder event for the town follows the incredible success of the Proms over the past five years.
Thursday - 6th August - Faithless
Friday 7th August - International R&B sensation Billy Ocean is to top the bill of Lytham Festival’s ‘80s V 90s’ themed night. Ocean will be joined by other classic acts of the era with Chesney Hawkes, Jimmy Sommerville, East 17, Sinitta, 5ive and Vengaboys also turning back the musical clock.
Sunday 9th August - The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra joined by special guests Marti Pellow, Elaine Paige, Jonathan Antoine and Laura Wright will take to the stage. Between them Pellow and Paige share credits for theatrical hits including Evita, Blood Brothers, Hair and Cats, few other singers are better qualified to so expertly celebrate the theme of ‘Songs from Stage and Screen’. Event promoters Cuffe and Taylor are behind the success of Lytham Proms and are taking the bold move of making the event bigger and better than ever before.
Comedy and literature, for both children and adults alike, will feature in the expanded Lytham Festival programme across a whole week starting Monday 2 August. Venues including The Assembly Rooms will host a Jazz Café, while festival-goers can venture to Hewitt Lecture Rooms to discover spoken word and poetry plus a comedy Big Top will pop up at Park View 4U.
Park View 4U will also host a specially devised “Festival of Stories” for younger festival-goers with a programme celebrating heritage and creative storytelling aimed at children, young people and their families. This will include published children’s authors, workshops and exhibitions
